Christmas Quilt-A-Long: Autumn 2025 (Thursdays)
Make a festive patchwork quilt ready to enjoy this Christmas!
Have you been meaning to make a seasonal quilt for festive celebrations? Do you usually think of starting once it’s too late to finish in time for Christmas? I know that feeling!
This year, let’s get ahead, sew together and complete a modern Christmas quilt in time to enjoy the festive season.
About the Christmas Quilt-A-Long:
Create a modern Christmas-themed patchwork quilt in time for advent
Make your own unique ‘Evergreen Gifts Quilt’ using my pattern.
Ideal for new and experienced quilters, especially those who have completed Cowden Quilt School’s ‘quilt-making for beginners’ and ‘next steps in patchwork and quilting’ courses or have equivalent experience of making half-square triangles (HSTs)
A relaxed pace, over three months, with guidance and support throughout.
The dates and details:
Dates: Thursdays 11 September, 25 September, 9 October, 6 November and 27 November 2025
Time: 9.30am to 2.30pm each day
Location: Kathleen’s home-studio in East Leicestershire (LE7) or a local venue
The Christmas QAL is for you if:
You’d like to finish a Christmas quilt in time for Christmas 2025. Perhaps to gift it as a Christmas present or simply enjoy it in your own home as part of your seasonal decorating
You’ve made two or three quilts before and are comfortable with the basic processes of making a patchwork quilt from start to finish
You’re keen to keep learning more about making quilts, build confidence in your skills and try new patchwork and quilting techniques
You enjoy sewing and creating with company and belonging to a local community of creatives.
What’s included:
Patient guidance and friendly support through each step of the quilt-making process, with an experienced quilting teacher
The Evergreen Gifts Quilt pattern
A cosy, home-from-home class environment to relax and create
The company of like-minded local quilters
Freshly-baked snacks and bottomless tea and coffee to fuel your sewing
Use of Kathleen’s studio sewing machines and cutting equipment (or you are welcome to bring your own).
You’ll need:
Your personal choice of fabrics, wadding and basting tools to make your quilt – you’ll receive guidance to help you choose before the QAL begins
Use of a reliable sewing machine, compatible 1/4” seam foot and walking foot plus cutting and sewing kit to work on your quilt from home, in between classes
A packed lunch to keep you going on class dates.

Please note that my home-studio may move location before this course begins. We’re not moving far and will still be in the LE7 postcode. Please contact me if you need an update before booking to take part.
In case you need to avoid any animal allergens, please note that we have a cat and guinea pigs at home.
